I am in the process of shutting down Hawkdriver.com. Access is now restricted.
(1) Site activity has dropped to levels that don't warrant sustaining it.
(2) Registration requests originating from outside the US have been increasing exponentially (in an apparent attempt by nefarious parties to gain access). This takes time that I simply don't have to "clear" all those requests.
(3) Security measures I have in place on the website indicate that the site is being bombarded on a daily basis with other attempts to hack the site. There was a successful hack about ten years ago from an individual in Turkey. That required a LOT of work (and expense) to restore the site and add additional security precautions. It is only a matter of time before someone gets in again.
(4) A recent software update "broke" the discussion forum and I don't see it as worth the effort to repair.
We had a long run and it was good.
